Hey Everyone, I have a question for you all. What foods couldnt you stand when you were pregnant? I am 12 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child and I can not the smell or taste of meat. It makes me feel extremely nauseous. When I was pregnant with my 1st child, I couldnt stand the smell of Chinese Food and normally I love Chinese Food.

for the first half of my pregnancy I couldn't stand the smell of peanut butter or fish. Both of them made me want to vomit (and I LOVED peanut butter before I got pregnant) in the last half of the pregnancy all I wanted to eat was fish! Huge turn around!

with the first... meat! i hated raw or cooking meat but loved cheeseburgers. with the second i can eat anything really but sometimes i just feel sick and don't feel like any food which didn't happen with the first one.

I HATED the smell of beef during my first 4 months, and I couldn't even eat it. I did fine with pretty much everything else, and even developed a taste for fried pickles, which I normally dislike.

The smell, taste, and texture of Hamburger meat! And I usually love the stuff. It made me want to vomit!

I couldnt eat basically anything my fiance cooked...he cooked with a lot of butter, I cooked with olive oil and made lots of veggies and he made meat with lots of starches....I hated meat until I was 7 months along...actually, at 5 months I was able to eat some skirt steak at a party but until then, no way was i going near any meat at all!! No chicken, turkey, fish, shrimp...ewww. lol. I was craving red lobster and went and couldnt even finish my food without puking. It was sad. Once I was 7 months that changed and all I wanted was McDonalds quarter punders with cheese only and a big coca cola =] I wasnt big on hambergers until then and now I like them. I also like cheese which is wierd...I never liked it before.

lol...just remembered that I used to love ben&jerry's cherry garcia...oh, how i loved it...until i got pregnant. My fiance bought some for me and it sat in the freezer with just 2 holes on the top where I had dug the spoon in to eat and never took it out again. was soooo gross.

I didn't have any issues disliking a food until this pregnancy... I normally LOVE bacon, but now it makes me sick to eat it, smell it or even see it!

With my son, I couldn't even say "cold cuts' without gagging. literally couldn't say the words, never mind eat them. not that I could, anyway. And tomato sauce. couldn't even open a jar of it without gagging. Then there was my leftovers- my co workers would have to heat my leftovers up for lunch b/c I couldn't open them- the smell was nauseating. With my daughter, nothing tasted good for the 1st 3 mths of the pregnancy. no aversions though!

With both of my pregnancies, I havn't been able to tolerate the smell or taste of cooked veggies, instant vomit! Raw, bring it on! I also could not stand anything sugary, chocolate, candies, cake, ice cream etc etc.

I could not drink enough milk or eat enough protein though. And I also had Pica, craved laundry detergent with my first (obviously I did not indulge) and this time around I have craved my daughter's bubble bath! lol Fun times with pregnancy!

The worst for me was ground beef, steak, and chicken. Chicken was bad for both cooking and eating. I could be nauseus and get a craving for McDonalds and that would make me feel a bit better...crazy.

Hated bacon and veggies while pregnant with my twins. Leftover dinners of any kind I had to force down. Now on the other hand I loved milk, cheese, yogurt, fruit, italian ice and real fruit popsicles.

am i the only person. that couldn't stand to even look at beans when i was pregnant? i didn't really eat a lot during my pregnancy just my main 3 meals..... which i've never really done since leaving school and don't now. i ate plenty of fruit and drank fruit juices. i also used to eat pickled beetroot straight from the jar(guess you could say it was a craving)

Grapes and apples. To this day, if I eat too much (more than a few grapes or more than about half an apple) I still get sick - and my youngest is almost 2! This started about 2 months into my pregnancy with my 3 year old :(

With my first pregnancy I couldn't stand the smell of fish. With this pregnancy, in the beginning, I couldn't stand raw meat. I'm 30 wks now and it's gotten a lot better.

spaghetti, and enchiladas. it was a few months postpartum before i was able to eat them again

like you bianca, my mom couldn't handle meat while she was pregnant with me. interestingly enough, when i was 11 years old, i became a vegetarian and have been a veggie ever since :P

no specific foods in general, just that i had to eat what i wanted and if it was anything else i would gag! with my 2nd i LOVED cantaloupe, with my third the thought of it made me want to vomit.

With my daughter it was red meat (and I am a red meat eater!!!). If I smelled it I would puke and if I ate it I would puke. It was terrible,

I can't really think of anything that I didn't like with my son. Which is probably why I gained a ton of weight with him and not with her!!! LOL!

Tracy - posted on 09/21/2010

im with you, i couldnt handle the smell of meats, or soups!
I dont normally eat alot of spicy food either, but 1 pregnancy I was addicted to hot wings!

With my son, fast food. Any and ALL of it. Just driving past a McDonald's would have me gagging. My baby's father would grab fast food at lunch and eat it at the house, and when I got home at 6 pm I could still smell it. I had to put an end to that. It forced me to eat very healthy though!

Sherri - posted on 09/20/2010

I don't remember having any aversions to foods. I couldn't empty the trash though. The smell of the trash would make me sick each and everytime.

Seafood. the smell of it and the look of it (except for salmon). I also didnt care for meat, didn't want it but ate it because I knew I should.

whilst pregnant with my twins a few years ago i couldn't stand meat at all either ( and I am a BIG meat lover)
Whilst preg with my 1st I couldn't eat jam that was the only food I would bring up after eating

The first time I was pregnant, I could not stand the smell of ham. I had the urge to try all the weird little stuff you find in a convenience store....Tried pickled eggs---yuck!

When I was pregnant the second time, I could not eat pork chops.... or chocolate candy.

[deleted account]

Oh, ya.....P.S....the grapes HAD to be firm and crunchy and I forgot to mention chocolate and peanut butter....YUM! Couldn't get enough while I was pregnant but haven't touched it since.

[deleted account]

I had no food aversions but I couldn't stop eating broccoli, red seedless grapes and toasted bologna and cheese sandwhiches, none of which I'm normally fond of.

I couldn't stand Panda Express...that was the only thing that made me run for the bathroom.

[deleted account]

During my first one I stopped craving or having any desire for didn't make me sick or nothing but I got absolutely NO pleasure from eating it so I didn't eat it from 4mos til after I had my baby. The smell that got me the most was my husband's side of the bed because he would sweat the bed and it would stink SOO BAD! With #2 anything that was deepfried! YUCK! If there was a high amount of grease. W/#1 I ate a ton of beef & broccoli chinese food, couldn't stomach it AT ALL w/#2! #1 I worked in fast food and ate a ton of fried food #2 THANK GOD I didn't work w/food!

My first 2 pregnancies was ham and milk. Any milk that I drank tasted sour to me so I had to add a bit of chocolate syrup to it to get it down. My third pregnancy there was nothing that turned me off. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

I couldn't stand chocolate for the first 4 months - the smell, taste and even the thought of it made me sick! I was never really a huge chocolate fan so it wasn't too much of a problem but then at around 5 months I couldn't stop eating chocolate and unfortunately now I love the stuff!!!

Carolina - posted on 09/18/2010

I hated meat (pork and beef), fish, spinach, broccoli.... basically all I could stomach was chicken, which made for quite boring dinners everyday. Good luck with the pregnancy!

Vegetables! Yuck! The smell of them cooking, the texture...BLAH!! It was especially hard for me during my first trimester, but got a little better as time went on.

Nikki - posted on 09/18/2010

fish, just the sight or smell made me nauseas.
Also it was around xmas when I was in the first trimester and the smell of cinnamon and scented candles made me throw up

Erica - posted on 09/18/2010

I worked in a restaurant while I was pregant with my youngest and couldnt even be in the kitchen or deliver to my tables salmon!!! YUCK....I aslo had to do all the driving or I would get car sick

[deleted account]

With my twins it was eggs. Any smell or taste of egg (except hard boiled) would make me sick. No specific foods made me sick w/ my son.
