Getting 1 yr old to sleep in crib

My son will be a year old in a couple weeks and has always hated his crib. He's finally sleeping through the night but he will only sleep on his crib mattress on the floor next to me (I'm on the couch or in bed) . We live in an apartment so I feel bad letting him "cry it out". I don't want to disturb the neighbors too much. I need advice to get him to like his crib!!!!!

When my sons were babies, we used a low riding bed with drawers at the side. You can also purchase sides for the bed so he doesn't fall out!
Sounds like he just wants his mum. You can never love them too much.
If you have the room, put his crib in your room. That way it's a win-win situation. He's sleeping in the crib you want him to and he's happy because he is closer and it seems more secure with you close by.
As he gets older, get him excited in his own room and assure him of where you will be.
It will work itself out in time.
The secret to successful parenting is patience and a whole lot of love and support.
