Getting a 5 year old to sleep in her own bed

My daughter will not sleep in her bed. Everytime I try to put her in her bed she starts bawling and says she's scared and throws a fit till I give in and tell her that she can lay in our bed for 10 mins. I then put her in her bed and she still wakes up every night at 3:30 in the morning and crawls back into our bed. I've had enough I've tried giving her things, turning on the TV, buying a dog, sitting in her room on the floor till she falls asleep. If anyone has any good ideas that would be great. For whatever reason, I'm not sure why, I have the hardest time with this one particular issue. My husband and I go round and round on this. I'm also working 1 full time job and 2 part time jobs and when I come home late at night she is also in the bed when I get home so I'm not the only one that is allowing this to happen.

Yeah. At 5 years old, I'd let her cry it out. She is way old enough to understand that she needs to stay in her bed. I'd even say she's old enough to be punished by taking away a favorite toy(s) until she behaves properly. You and your hubby need to join forces and stick to your guns. If you do, you Might have a couple of rough nights but in the end, it will be worth it. If you don't, you will have her in your bed for a few years. Tough love's time. Good. Luck.

Okay you have created a monster by giving in to her. Let her cry it out. She will learn you mean business and just because she throws a fit she can't get her way. When she comes in at 3:30am gently walk her back to her room and tuck her back in. Put a stop from her coming in your bed period unless the sun is out and she wishes to cuddle in the morning.
