getting rid of stretch marks after pregnancy?

I'm almost 37 weeks along and have gone almost the entire time without getting one stretch mark, until now anyways. I have a section right below my belly button where stretch marks are starting to appear, I have been using palmers concentrated cocoa butter on them a couple times a day since I noticed them...but what I am wondering is, has anybody found any remedies or solutions to effectively get rid or soften the appearance of stretch marks after the baby is born?

I used olive oil. I put it on in the shower and washed of extra. Mine are all gone now. Or you could use straight vitamin E but its thick but it works also.

There is not getting rid of them, just fading them. Bio-oil works well, or you can try pure coconut oil. I'm sure yours will be easy to fade if you are only getting them now.

It Works! offers the Ultimate Body Applicator and a Defining Gel which both help reduce the appearance of stretch marks. I didn't believe anything could make a drastic difference in just an hour but the wrap which detoxifies, tightens, and firms really does. I lost two inches off my waist and my stomach was smooth.

I had stretch marks suddenly appear right under my belly button a few weeks before my daughter was born. They have pretty much faded away, she is 5 months now. They stretch marks on my thighs and hips were a lot darker and are still quite visible. I used all sorts of cream, coco butter and vitamin E. I can't say if they really helped or not. I'd like to think they did but who knows. I've just learned that the end result is so totally worth it, stretch marks don't seem so important when you're holding a beautiful baby! Anyways, I knew a girl that had some sort of surgery done to remove the stretch marks. It's not something I would do, but it worked well for her. Supposedly you have to have it after each child because stretch marks on top of stretch marks cannot be removed. There's always that option if you find they bother you too much but it doesn't sound like you have very many. Congrats on the soon birth of your little one!

Its all at The Body Shop - Use the Cocoa Butter Body butter during pregnancy to help improve the skin's elasticity and prevent stretch marks - its the best out there, not synthetic like many versions. For treating both old and new stretch marks, they also sell a product called Body Focus Stretch Mark Improver. It is a tretment and it really works. Good luck!
