My 5 year old daughter has an extremely hard time expelling gas. I know it sounds odd, you'd think that it would be easy to get that out but for her its hard and most times results in really bad stomach aches. I was wondering if there were any tricks to helping her out with this. She's had this issue since birth & where she's starting kindergarten in the fall I don't want to get calls from the nurse because of stomach aches. She's a very active kid....ice skates, dances, plays outside every day, etc and has a very healthy diet. This doesn't happen every single day but its at least one day a week. Her doctors don't seem to think its a medical issue and neither do I but I was just wondering if there was a way to ease this for her. I feel helpless when her stomach hurts & there's nothing I can do for her except rub her belly.
Any advise or tips would be welcome!!!
Thanks
Jaime

I have had 2 c-sections, major surgery (Gas build up is the worst feeling) and the best thing to relieve gas and was suggested by the nurses. It is also a recommended approach for children is peppermint, real peppermint. So some peppermint tea (there is no caffeine, very little if at all) or chewing a peppermint leaf. Here are two articles as well...
