has any mums gotten pregnant when their partner has had a vasectomy

I know people who have gotten pregnant after their hubby has had a vasectomy, and it was usually because they didn't wait the 6 weeks the doc recommended before having sex without protection. Plus they recommend that you get checked at a followup appointment as well, and a lot of people don't.

i know know a few women who have and the doctor wants most men to wait at least 6 months after and in that six months to jerk it off as much as possible then he should go back to find out if he is shooting blanks or not! breastfeeeding is not a form of birthcontrol which lots of women think it is but trust me it aint lol

Until about 2 years ago I didn't know this was possible. However my neighbor ended up pregnant with their 5th after her hubby's vasectomy. He had gone back for his follow ups and everything but here is something his doctor had never told him at the time. Sometimes vasectomy's can reverse themselves within the first ten years. Nice eh? Not sure why his doctor didn't tell him the first go around but apparently it has happened before, it's just very rare. I remember how turbulent that situation was until baby was born. He went and got a paternity test done to be sure the baby was his because he didn't totally believe it but baby was his.

For either a tubal or a vastectomy you should use another form of birth control because you have that long before they say you are completely  sure that the tubes didn't grow back together.

normally men have a second test 3 months post surgery and probably 12 ejaculations later to see if their swimmers are swimming. If the test is negative (meaning they are not swimming anymore) than you should not be getting pregnant. Normally people who do get pregnant either did it before their time was up or the man did not ejaculate enough to empty his vas. It has happened. make sure your man does the second test or he will be asking questions

Yep, I've heard that those little wrigglers can find thier way back down again after about the 7 year mark after a vasectomy. Not sure how much truth there is to it, but depending on how long its been since his "snip-snip" if you're worried, maybe get him checked out again...lol, to see if he's still "shooting blanks"...good luck love xo

Not me (I'm due in 7 weeks, he'll be getting his shortly there after), but I know someone who has. Had a DNA test done and it was his. Also, when my brother in law had his done the doc stressed how important the follow-up appointment is to make sure everything went as "planned". I know 2 different family friends who's husbands never went back for the follow-up. (And my B-in-L never went back either)
