Has your child ever seen a psychologist for anxiety?

I had a consultation today with my sons pediatrician, he's 6 1/2 and really having a tough time adjusting with school. He's fine when he gets there and isn't a behavior problem but before school he spends his mornings crying about how he doesn't want to go and at bedtime he starts telling me his stomach hurts. The pediatrician has suggested that we go to psychologist for ideas to help deal with this since after 3 months of school it's not going away, and it seems that he has some sort of separation anxiety.

I'm just wondering about other moms experiences with this, and how you broke the news to your child. My son is very smart and has stated that he doesn't wish to speak to anyone about it, but I know it's best for him.

♥ Aw.... poor guy!

I don't have experience yet, but need to set something up soon for my 4 year old. He actually WANTS to talk to someone about his feelings though. :( ♥
