Hello, I am feeding our 6wk old baby with one breast only. Has anyone done this successfully for many months to come without top up feeds etc?thanks

You can fully supply a baby's milk needs on just one breast. As Denikka mentioned, the reason for switching is to help prevent lopsidedness from one breast continuing to grow and the other not. If you don't care about being lopsided or have a specific reason for only using one breast... baby will be just fine.

I haven't done it, but I would think that it would be able to be done.
Really, the main reason (that I know of) for switching between both boobs equally is to prevent one from over producing and becoming lopsided.
I will say that both of my kids had a preference for one side and fed more so from that side. It was more 60/40 ish, not exclusively from one side, but I did perfectly fine with that (even had minimal lopsided-ness XD)
I think you'll be fine :) Good luck :)
