HELLO, recently found out I'm expecting twins, Baby A weighing @ 8 weeks 6 days Baby B weighing @ 7 weeks. The doctor informed me the babies are 9 days apart in weight so the chances I ovulated twice is very rare and his other conclusion is that Baby B will not make it and to prepare for the worst and hope for the best basically. I would really like somewhat of clarification on this maybe some hope that someone out there has gone through the same with a positive outcome. Please help me set my mind at ease

Basically the way it works is the Dr.'s measure the baby length to figure out how what gestational age they are. He is saying that it is very rare to ovulate twice in one cycle, so what maybe happening is baby B is growing at a slower rate than baby A or has stopped growing. But I have not come across this happening early in pregnancy so I can't help explaining the out come very well. I hope nothing but the best for you and your babies!

Both babies have heartbeats he didn't state whether or not they were good or not. I'm just overwhelmed with all these unanswered questions. I'm thinking on making another appointment with other OB.

I myself have never experienced it but have had friends and friends of friends had it happen. They turned out fine. I think doctors make you think the worst, I don't know why.....why do they think the other won't make it?
