Help!! She is into everything!

I don't know how to keep my 13-month-old out of things. She is fascinated by dangerous items. Such as cords and bags. Everywhere I turn she is into something else. She doesn't seem interested in her toys anymore, just the stuff she isn't supposed to have. Help!!

Shawnn: What if she screams and throws tantrums? She is aggressive and persistent...
Andrea: Thank you, that was extremely helpful. :)

This is mommy never sit stage.. I have a 12 month old myself and he is a stinker.. Also have a 6 year old and almost 5 year old..
I find that child proofing is something I won't do they need to learn, so yes redirecting, Play time, finding safe fun things the 2 of you can do together is a great distraction.. I found my little one loves to color and finger paint.. messy but so much fun for everyone even big brother and sister.. He is still in to things all the time unless sleeping.. Just means that I don't sit, I clean he chases or helps as I call it, we do dance parties.. Then if I need to make dinner I put him in high chair with a snack and cook without him "helping" LOL... I love this stage and it goes so fast... As for the bags I had to move them under the sink with child locks.. Cord I bought the locking baby safe cover from toys r us when I had my first... Hope this is helpful. best wishes and take care...

This is the age for constant and consistent redirection.

Hyper attentive to what she's up to, and ready to redirect each and every time. And, if you haven't already, it's time to remove things in her crib/sleep area to make sure she doesn't have anything to hurt her there.
