Hip Arthritis and Delivery

I have severe hip arthritis in my left hip. I had a scope done in Oct. 2005 where they removed part of my labrum that was causing a lot of pain. My range of motion is very limited....cannot sit indian style, have a hard time tying my left shoe. I have learned to live with the arthritis for the last 6 years (I am 32 years old now). I had my first son 18 mo. ago....long labor, water broke they hooked me up to pitocin right away, never left the bed, had to get an epidural after 12 hrs. only pushed for 20 min. and they told me his head was hitting my left pelvis they would have to do a C-section. Totally bummed about it but thought...well guess my arthritis is the reason.
I am due with my second Nov. 8th and have approached this delivery differently. I really don't think my arthritis in my femur would cause my pelvis not to open up enough. So I have hired a doula, will opt for no pitocin, no epidural, have been going to a chiropractor to help with alignment in hopes I will put the odds in my favor to have a vaginal birth.
I still have yet to find someone else that has severe arthritis that is my age and pregnant or that has delivered vaginally. Is there anyone out there that has hip arthritis but still has been able to have a vaginal delivery?
Thanks!
Katie

Quoting Sharon:

I have arthritis in my hips. When I was a young teen I shattered my pelvis. My doctors were terrified my pelvis wouldn't open up for delivery but it did. 3 times.

I hope you still opt to give birth in a hospital - just incase though.

I have a question for you regarding your post.  Would you mind sharing with me, your experience when you shattered your pelvis when you were younger?   The reason I'm asking is because 2 1/2 years ago I was in an accident on a motorcyle where I shattered my pelvis at the sacrum. I still continue to have cronic pain with my right leg shorter than the left.  Its awesome to hear that you had 3 children after your injury.

I am 44 years old and my child bearing years are over.  The youngest is on her final year of college. I would love to hear how you made it through after your injury in hopes that I may learn something from your experience and what to except later down the road.

Thank you, in advance for sharing to help others.

Hi, I have had 3 c-sections, and I was under the impression that with the babies' age so close together, after a c-section, your uterus could rupture if you try to do it vaginally. My first was born with Spina-Bifida, so the c-section was mandatory (I was 21). 7 years later I had my second, and my Dr told me because of the first, that a c-section would be best..... Also, I know someone who had a tilted uterus, and she said there was a clamp of some kind used for her to have her babies naturally... I don't know if any of this helps, but these are my thoughts
