How many of you all think I should let my 16 yr old son walk over me wanting me to supply him with hot sauce, considering it's easier to not buy it rather than hassling with his trying to drink it all up (on his food) in two days . He's too old to baby sit such a frivolous issue when we do have to pick and choose our battles heh heh.

He's 16. He can get a job and buy his own food of choice when what's offered isn't good enough for him. As long as you're providing an adequate meal, WHAT that meal consists of doesn't matter in the eyes of the law.

Does he have a job where he can contribute a small amount to the family grocery budget for his hot sauce habit? If not, maybe he can get one. Or you could compromise and tell him you'll buy him one bottle a week/month, but if he runs out before the week/month then it's on him to buy more. It's such a minor thing after all.

Seems to me he's old enough to contribute to his habit and execise some restraint in the use of his hot sauce.

Pick & choose your battles. Hotsauce is the least of the battles around here. I indulge most fav snacks except starbucks. I buy one bag of each childs' fav chips & cookies and its up to them to make them last.

Hot sauce... eh.. I dunno.

I agree with the others. I would suggest to him that he is welcome to buy it, but that it is not in your grocery budget.
