My 3 year old boy who turns 4 in Feb still gets up every night 3 or 4 times and i know i shouldnt, but eventually I give in and let him get in our bed as I am too tired to keep getting up to put him back in his own bed. He shares a room with his brother, who is 5, we have never had a problem with the 5 year old, so I am finding this really difficult.

Hi....persistance is the key.... know it's hard but if you lose sleep for a few nights it's going to be better in the long run, peacful full nights sleep for the future!! Find the reasons he is waking in the first place, thirst, cold, dreaming, or comfort! as long as you rule all of  these out then you know it is simply the comfort of your bed... keep strong as (nanny says) first time tell him you love him then goodnight, goodnight 2nd, say nothing from 3rd time just keeping putting him back & keep at it untill he realises he is not getting into your bed... a few nights of this should soon change his pattern! Good luck keep at it!

Does he have a security item? Stuffed animal, or blanket or something? That could be a start. Also, make sure when he gets up, you don't talk to much to him. Maybe a simple, I love you goodnight and walk him back into his bed. If you're consistent, for a few nights and make sure he's put back in his bed every time, he might stay. Does he have a night light? Maybe try a reward system where he can earn something he wants if he can stay in his bed all night every night for a week or something. You could also try a CD player with soft music or something. Hope that helps.
