How can I get my 3yr old to sleep in her room all night long?

I put her in her room before I go to bed and a few hrs later she is up and either wants to sleep with me or go down stairs and sleep on her couch. And when we do either one she goes back to sleep.

lol... i let my son sleep in my bed w/me until he was 12 months, then he went right into a toddler bed. my daughter went in her crib a bit earlier, but i loved having them in my bed, it just feels so nice!! ♥
i know what it's like to be preg and too tired!! don't worry, you have lots of time to get them used to their own rooms. some kids just wake up in the middle of the night, and some don't. but of course if they wake up, they're gona want their mommies!! :P :) but they also understand if they have to stay in their bed, they just get a second goodnite kiss(es) ♥

im having the same issues.. my son is almost 21 months and he will let me put him to bed in his big boy bed but he eventually ends up in my bed for the rest of the night. im currently almost 4 months pregnant so im tired and fall back to sleep once he is in the bed with me. I mean to stay awake and move him back to his bed once he is asleep but it doesnt happen.. LOL. I need him to sleep in his bed b4 this baby comes!! I dont know what ill do with a crib in my room and a 2year old in my bed!! talk about never sleeping!

no problem!! they do it on suppernanny (the show) all the time, and i've had to tell my son that he sleeps in his room and that's it cuz he tried to start doing it more often at some points... but if the kid knows you mean business, usually they give in ;)

my son does that sometimes. i let him because it's rare. in your case since it's often, i would say just tell her it's still bedtime and put her back in her room. if you want her to stay in her room, you have to be consistent and don't budge. she might kick and scream and you might lose some sleep, but after as short as a day or two, she'll get it!! good luck!!
