How can I get my breastfeeding baby to take bottles and pacifiers and sleep on his own!?

I really need some help here. My son is 3 months old this week and I've been exclusively breast feeding. The nurse at the hospital when he was born told me not to pump.. and now when i do pump my baby won't take the bottle and won't take pacifiers.. so when he goes down for naps or bedtime, I'm his pacifier and have to lay with him until he falls asleep.... and even then when I leave he'll only sleep for maybe another 20 minutes without me there. I've tried putting him in his bassinet and letting him whine it out, but he just ends up getting louder... I've tried sitting by him and hushing him and talking to him so he knows I'm there but it doesn't seem to be working. I've tried feeding him in the rocking chair and then putting him down after he falls asleep but he only sleeps for maybe 30 minutes, if he doesn't wake up while I'm putting him down. I don't want to do the cry-it-out method because I don't want him to feel abandoned. Any suggestions? Is it just going to take time for him to take bottles and pacifiers... should I keep trying? I don't want to be a pacifier anymore.
