How do I get my 3 1/2year old to stop biting on everything. His clothes, his toys... He still takes his pacifier at night too. PLEASE HELP

Have you had him to see a dentist yet? That would be the perfect person to get a good answer from. My son is 4 and has been sucking/chewing on his shirt for the last 6 months or so. His dentist says his teeth are fine, and he's probably just picked up a habit from being in school, around other kids. I used to suck on my shirt when I was little too so.....I dunno, maybe he inherited it from me lol

I do recommend that you get rid of the pacifier though. At this point, it's doing more harm than good because your son has all of his teeth and the pacifier can damage them. Just some food for thought but again, speak with a dentist about it. Try to find a pedicatric dentist. They are so awesome! Jacob's first visit, the dentist didn't really do an "exam", as much as he just spent time making him feel comfortable in the room, with the equipment, etc. He let him hold the mirror thing they stick in your mouth to look at the teeth, let him hold the light, etc. The second visit is when he was able to actually get in there and get a good look :)

Thank you Joy! We did try the dentist thing but they didn't do what your s did, I guess I could call them and see if they could do that. Any suggestions on getting rid of paci, we have tried everything we could think of?
