How do I keep my toddler in bed at night?

Hello Moms!
I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter who has had her "big girl bed" for about 2 months now. She slept in her bed very well for the first month or so, but now she gets up every night, and we can't figure out why. Sometimes she gets out of bed 5 - 6 times. She's been potty trained since she was about 2, so that's the reason we switched her bed, in case she had to go potty during the night. In the past few weeks, she's taken to coming into our bedroom and getting in bed with us. I don't want to allow this, but there are some nights that I am too asleep and tired to put her back in bed. What do I do? Help!!

We are having the same problem. Our 20 month old will not stay in her toddler bed which seems to be okay because we have the child proof door knobs that keep her from opening their door. After tucking them in she will cry for about 2-3 minuts then she is off to sleep. Now the problem!! She and her 8 month old brother have to share a room! When she gets out of her bed she climbs in his crib with him. We have caught her standing on him! Yikes! We are wondering if we should put her back in a crib. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm having the same exact problem with my almost 2 1/2 year old son! He's been in his own bed since about 18 months, he goes to sleep fine in his bed. I'm too tired/too out of it sometimes too to put him back in his bed. Sometimes he gets in my bed and I don't even know it! He's sleeping in his crib converted into a toddler bed, I'm going to get him a racecar bed that a friend is giving me, I'm hoping that maybe a new bed will do the trick!

If you are aware she's there, put her back calmly and immediately. Shhhh, gotta sleep in your own bed. She'll probably cry, whine, all that jazz. But eventually she'll get that her place is not in your bed. Even if you're half conscious, have to take her back to her bed. Let her know mommy's tired and can't sleep good with so many in her bed. Mommy's bed is just for mommy and daddy. Goodnight, love you. end of story. :) good luck! :)
