Both my girls had it at the same time, my oldest worse than the youngest. They looked like small red circles with almost a pimple head when they started. Slight fever, little runny nose. Itchy!!! Calamine lotion worked, and a light tee shirt. started on the belly, worked to the back and groin area. Went away in about 10 days... good luck

When my oldest had chicken pox he was 2, and I first notested red dots on his back. I was told they like worm places. But I would take him into the doctors to be sure.

My daughter is almost 6 and the chicken pox is going around her grade, just not her class that I know of. She has a few spots on her belly and back that look like pimples and she said she is very sore.

If you aren't sure what is wrong with your child, or think there is even a chance they have chicken pox, take them to the doctor.

What is your child's age? Has he/she been exposed to it that you know of? My son is just finally over hand, foot and mouth disease and a friend's kid had this recently too, but in him the doctors originally thought it was chicken pox, so they must be somewhat similar and it's the time of year for that. is a great site for finding info about sicknesses, you can just put in chicken pox in the search and it will pull it right up for you.

If you're seeing a rash and fever definitely get it checked out though. You can look in the mouth and see if there are any spots in there (similar to little blisters), if you find those kind of spots then it might be HFM.

Hope your child is better fast!
