How old is he? Babies shouldn't have solid food before six months. Between six and twelve months solid food is mainly just for practise and nutritional needs should be met with breastmilk (or formula). Most kids will develop an interest in solid food by the time they master a pincer grasp and can pick up food and start feeding themselves. There is some cause concern after twelve months if babies aren't eating solid food, though even then things work out fine more often than not.
