I'm just wondering how the other mom's make friends when they just move to a town and haven't met anyone. It's hard to meet people when you stay at home? How do you do it?

Does Kearney have a parks and rec? You can check out if they have any classes for kids. Also try Kindermusik, Music Together, Gymboree or a gymnastics class. Remember where ever there are kids, there are moms.

I agree with another poster...try meetup.com. Or, another one is playgroupsusa.com...that is how I found some! Good luck!

I live in a town of 300 people. I am the youngest mother by atleast 10 years. I feel out of place when I go to my daughters school functions. I try to get involved but it's hard. The people here aren't friendly to people that didn't grow up here. I would like to find atleast one cool mom to hang out with even if I had to drive to Kearney (our nearest large town which is only 15 miles away). That way I have someone to go and do adult stuff with except for just playing legos. Thanks for all your advice.

I made one at my little ones school. I also made one thought a mom web site called cafemom.com But I think if you put your self out there you will makes friends. It took me two years to find a mommy friend.

Well volunteer at school. Take kids lunch at school. Take walks in neighborhood. Sign daughter up for Ballet lessons your sure to meet moms in waiting room. Set up playdate at a local church during day they usually have mothers day out programs... Be Brave...you can do it..

Most cities have "mommy groups" you can inquire at your local clinic... I found my mommy group when I went for my son's 2 months vaccinations where they also gave me a flyer for the meeting. I tried it out and met some really great moms! And it also has the benefit of letting me get out of the house ;)

I SUGGEST PUTTING UP FLYERS IN THE KIDS SCHOOL OR EVEN AT WORK FOR PLAYDATES THEN YOU DETERMINE IF THESE ARE PEOPLE YOU CAN SURROUND YOURSELF WITH

Hey, not sure where you live but in Ontario Canada we have a program called Ontario Early Years that have lots of drop in groups and are a great place to meet new Moms. There are also groups on the internet (we have one called Mom's town) so you might be able to find something there to join.
