How do you deal with your teens?

I work evenings and my fiance works days. So there have been a few time that I haven't been able to get everything done during the day and have asked my soon to be step son, who is 14, to help out. He never does what I ask him to do! Yesterday I asked him to fold one small load of laundry before his dad got home from work. When his dad got home the laundry was on the bed. Dad ended up fording it.

On the way to school today I asked him why he didn't fold the laundry and he said because "he didn't feel like it". This made me furious, although I didn't let him know that! Now I know why my parents used to get so made when I would say things like this. I asked if he doesn't feel like doing something at his mom's does he just not do it? He said "yup". Which I am sure is not the case!

So my question is...What do or would you do in this situation?

Well if he doesn't do anything for you don't do anything for him in example is does he have a cell phone? Don't pay for that until he does what you want. Having friends over? Nope not until he does what you ask. "Just because he doesn't want to do it" Is not an acceptable answer! Remind him you do things that you don't want to do but you have to do it!
