That's fine. I'm not saying you can't suggest it as an option. But when you do, I am equally able to express what I think about someone doing an amnio JUST for reasons of gender testing. That's all. It actually shouldn't be a choice for gender testing IMO. If you happen to find out gender because you are high risk for birth defects and decided to do the test, then that's different.

Why would ANYONE have an amnio, an invasive procedure, just to find out the sex of their baby?

You can't know......even if you get an ultrasound done, it is not 100% accurate. Best way to find out is give birth.

I understand and respect that Jodi. But some people do make that choice just because, not saying that is what she is going to do. I only meant that an amnio is the only thing that would be 100% accurate.

"That is a personal choice for her to make base on her situation if it arrises"

Hence the reason for my comment.

Angela, scans aren't 100% accurate.

I was not say to do it, i was just saying that that is the only was to get a definate answer. I had to do one for my third preg.ancies due to abnormal results and luckily they came back normal and they told me the sex of my baby

Most that find out through amnio have to have the amnio done for genetic screening or for establishing paternity anyway so they run that at the same time
