I went into labour at 2255 and had my daughter at 2318 after a doctor told me id be in labour for hours and she'd see me the next morning. Ended up giving birth with just a trainee midwife.

I was in labor for 4 hours and 45 minutes of that was pushing. My son was 8 days early, and he is my first child.

all times are from the very 1st onset of labour ( either contraction or water breaking)

1st - 1hr 18min

2nd - 40min

3rd - 26min

4th - 12 min

all drug and problem free

My little boy took about 48 hours from first pains till he appeared. The pushing was the easy part! My daughter again about 48 hours but I made sure I walked around a lot more while in labour and this eased the pain and so once my waters finally decided to go I only had about 1 hour of pushing and she arrived although I haemorraged but still elss painful than the first. Only gas and air for both - didn't want any other form of pain relief or need it. Due again in 3 1/2 weeks so we'll see. Hopefully this one goes as smoothly as the other 2 although hopefully a little shorter. At least the length means that family have time to get here to look after the others.

Me as a first mum, I was in labour, from the moment my water broke until he was actually out, for 3 hours. It went very fast and only had to push 3-4 times. It was intense but quick, just like my mum. She had three kids and every one of us was max. 3 hours.

7 hours with the first= vaginal birth but ripped t pieces an hour and a half of stitching... they way lost count of how many....

20 hours with the second and then an emergency caesarian..

30 hours with the third vaginal delivery no stitches very quick recovery!

That is not how its supposed to go though is it- it's supposed to get faster every time right?LOL

With my son I was in labor for an hour. From start to finish, I thought that was quick until I read the 12 minute response! We barely made it to the hospital. My son was born 15 minutes after arriving at the hospital.

You had to pay to deliver in the back of a car?? That's not really fair. LOL

My first daughter I was in labor for 37 1/2 hours from start to finish.. My son was about 13 hours. and my last daughter was 6 hours but I waited til the very last minute to drive the hour and 40 mintues to the hospital barely made it in there before I had her. pushed 4 times. Doctor wasn't even ready. an intern grabbed her with a half gloved hand. (she was cose to being born in the back of my mothers car. but luckily no)

was in labor for about 15 hours the first time, (but they had to induce me) and i slept thru most of it because of the magnesium sulfate they were pumpin into me so i didnt have a siezure w/ my bp being so high, but the second time around it was only bout 7 hours total. my poor cousin just had a baby and she was in labor for 3 days...made me very thankful for how "short" mine was lol. and yes, walking sped things up a LOT the second time around, not to mention it gives you something else to concentrate on (time moves a lot slower when they won't let you get out of bed)

From my first contraction to delivery was 41hours, no niggles, just straight intense labour @ 1am then stopped at 12noon then ended in a c-section, yes 41hours later. Pretty guttered, baby in wrong position, fingers crossed for better luck next time.

How lucky! I was in labor for 36 hours!!! My sisters all had long labors (over 10 hours) and I was prepared for a long one too, but not 36 hours! Mine was induced on my 41st month. But it only took me 2 pushes to get him out! I'm just glad I still ended up not having a C-section!

13 1/2 hours from the time my water broke until delivery (7:30 a.m. until 9:01 p.m.). Only pushed for 5 minutes though. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience.

39 hours 6 hours of pushing and a beautiful 10 1/2 pound baby boy, and no medications or epidural. I am now 19 weeks along with my second son and hoping that this one is a lot easier then the first.

How awesome for you that must have been great !! With my first one I was in labor for five and a half hours cause I was induced, but my second I labored at home all day kind of easily mild cramping for 6 hours and then three and a half at the hospital not bad I thought, hopefully this one coming in August will be my record birth. LOL

6hrs from the time my water broke. Water broke at 8am, felt first contraction about 10:30am, started pushing at 1pm and delivered at 2pm. I was 1 week overdue with him.

I was in labor for 30 hours. No drugs or interventions. Pushed him out really quick, but lost track of time at that point, so not sure how long actual pushing took. Seemed like minutes.

Depends on which baby you are asking about. My 1st I was in induced labor for 19 1/2 hours. It was an all natural birth up until the last hour before she was born. I was in pushing labor for over 4 hours. My 2nd, I was in induced labor from start to finish, in 3 hours and 59 mins exactly. Don't remember much about the 1st one, but remember all too well the 2nd. I had kidney stones in 2004 and would rather give birth again, labor and all, rather than have those again!!

My 1st l was 2 weeks overdue, got induced, 20 hours later only 6cm dilated, he got stuck and was in distress so ended up having emergency caeserean, felt like a whirlwind!! My second was a booked in ceasarean 1 week before due date, all went well as l knew what to expect and recovered much better then with my first.

12 minutes of pushing, mild contractions for about 12 hours before I pushed her out. This was my fourth. All of mine were relatively easy. The longest I pushed was 22 minutes. My first was 2 weeks early, my water broke at 9:30 and she was born 3 hours later, after about 20 minutes of pushing. I'm glad none of them were in the car. My sis-in-law had her last in the car and it was mess!!

with my first son i was in labour for 26 and a half hours!!!! and with my second it was really quick because i was induced. that was only 3 and a half hours. my second birth was more painful for some reason. even though my second son weighed alot less than my first. my first weighed 7lb13 and my second was only 6lb 2.

~2 weeks "over due". Water broke, but no contractions until 12 hours later. Then I had 12 hours of weak contractions (could just go about my day no problem) + 12 hours active labor (with contractions 4 min. apart) + 1.5 hours of pushing. Home birth, so NO DRUGS, but still had NO pain between contractions so I actually slept between! 9 lbs. 7 oz. baby boy :) Yes, we ALL have a right to brag - birth is the most physically challenging event in all the world, I would say!
