How much should a 13 year old girl get for pocket money? She is always nagging for money and I say, ''well you have to work for it''. She doesn't like me very much then. She now does a few chores a day. I will now put numbers before and after the days that she doea work and after will be the chores. 0Monday0, replace toilet rolls and get washing out of bedrooms and bathroom. 0Tuesday0, clean kitchen table and tidy bathroom. 0Wednesday0, tidy and vacuum hallway and get washing out of bedrooms and bathroom. 0Thursday0, clean kitchen cupboards, clean stovetop and take rubbish out. 0Friday0, load of dishes and put away, do folding and put it all away and get washing out of bedrooms and bathroom.
She has to make her bed everyday and that is not counted in the pocket money. Thanks for your help :)

You are a single mother of 2 children who works hard for your money and has a maid and a cleaner and purchases your daughter 14 pairs of shoes, and yet you want her to learn the value of money? You really aren't going about it in the right way. People aren't being mean, they are confused that in one breath you want her to do this list of chores for her allowance, and then suddenly you are spending a fortune on her, saying she can't do those chores and handing her money. Which is it you want for your daughter? To become an entitled princess, or learn what it is to have to work hard for the things she values?

What do you mean "what do you mean". Lady, you are delusional. You are spoiling your child and you are here asking whether you should give her an allowance for doing jobs? No kid needs 14 pairs of shoes. Every kid needs to learn the value of money. Your kid is not learning that, not even close. Heaven forbid you distract the cleaner or the maid.

Now I'm really confused, you just hand her money for doing nothing AFTER you spent a lot on her, but she can't do anything because you have a maid? Make her mow the lawns and wash the car or something.

I only buy the necessites and the pocket money is for her wants. My daughter has 14 pairs of shoes. SO WHAT!! My children are not brats or princesses and they are very kind. It is a big statement to say that they are spoiled. No mum is perfect! I work hard and yet I still have money left over. I only work 9-5 shifts, so I spend lots of times with my family, so no one can say that I don't spend time with my family. Anyway how much would ou give your child?? Thanks.

I am sorry that I work hard for my money. I am a single mother of two children. Please stop being mean, I am getting quite offended!

Well we wnt shoping yestreday and she got 8 new tops, 2 scarves, 2 beanies, 14 new pairs of shoes and after that I gave her $20. She can't really do that much housework because we have a cleaner and a maid and we can't really distract the cleaner by asking if my daughter can help. Also, because the cleaner does everything 10 times faster and better. Does anybody have any ideas on what she can do around the house of neighbourhood for some more money? Beause she can't do that much inside. Thanks.

Thankyou for your help, but I have thought of doing $5 a week, plus allowance which is $15. Does this sound good?

Looks like a big fat zero to me.....lots of zeros on that that chore chart if I am reading your post correctly?

In my house an allowance is only paid if chores are done and not complained about (complaining and moaning about it is not acceptable).
