How to deal with 20 month old meltdowns/tantrums?? HELP!

Hi everyone,
My baby girl is 20 months young. She is a sweet, loving, affectionate baby girl and is my dream come true!! I would say, within the past few weeks, her behavior has shifted dramatically. She now seems to whine and cry constantly, and has meltdowns. I can't even go out to the store with her anymore. She doesn't like to be confined (which I understand, she wants to run around and expore) but she has a major scream fest, when I try to put her in the carriage.'s so trying at times.

I don't know how to handle it. I have tried to enstill "breaks" and I get down to her level and let her know why I am putting her in break. When she has a meltdown at the store, I just leave, and go home with her. It is just to stressful for me.

Recently, we were at a family party and she wanted me to hold her the whole time, which I understand she could have been overwhelmed with all the people there etc...she cried the whole time we were there (well, most of the time)

Oh's a new phase and I am guessing it's because she is coming into her 2's soon?? It's just hard at times. I just pray I am doing everything right. Any feedback from moms, please! Thank you in advance!

Another piece of advice would be to get down on her level and talk in a calm voice about what behaviour you expect from her, prior to going somewhere.

I.e., before you go to the store, you tell her clearly what you expect. This might be to listen to your instructions, do what she's told and stay close to you, just as an example.

Hi again. I did this when my two oldest children if they mucked up at the shops went down to there level spoked in calm voice give Im 1 warning only if they keep mucking up take them straight home in there rooms get a garage bag and put there favorite toys in the bag. then tell her she wont be getting them back till she behaves herself.I hope this might help for you it worked wonders for me good luck
