My hair is the same, and I have two recommendations:

1. Stop using shampoo. Seriously. Get a squirt bottle and when you want to wash her hair, fill the bottle with a dollop of conditioner, fill the rest with water and shake it 'till it's foamy. Squirt that all over her scalp and massage the lather in. Then use full-strength conditioner on the ends, combing it through with a wide-toothed comb. Rinse with warm water after a few minutes. That alone will take care of most of the dryness.

2. After she's out of the tub, blot (don't rub) her hair dry with a towel, spray with a leave-in conditioner, and then comb in (with the wide-toothed comb) some serum with argan oil in it. Then let it air dry. Her curls will be a lot softer and better formed.
