i was over due too! we tried everything - increase elevation (went up to the mountains) having sex, breast pumping, walked my butt off . . . nothing worked until my ob stripped my membranes - i went into labor within 48 hrs of her doing it! its so frustrating - i swear the last two weeks felt like the first four months! GOOD LUCK

SEX, SEX, SEX. Semen contains natural prosterglandins which is what they give you initially in induction anyway. It prepares and softens the cervix. It's good to make the most of it now too as you might not get it for a while : )

My step father (who was a farmer) told me "If the cow won't calf, put the bull back into the paddock" lmao... But it's true, sex can help... semen contains prostaglandins which soften the cervix (and so will a nice warm bath, so have one of them first), and an orgasm will get your uterus contracting...

I tried castor oil once, and all it did was give me diahorrea and I stunk out the house and had to leave it for a while... But it was the hot bath and hot sex that worked for me... :-) Good luck.

try to relax as much as possible and not stress over the fact that ur baby is late. walk when u can, fresh pineapple, sex, and if u wanna try the herbal route u can drink red raspberry tea or take black cohosh. the tea and cohosh they warn u not to take during the first 2 trimesters cuz it induces labor.... hope it helps - good luck!

My Dr. told me - nipple stimulation, sex and spicey foods. He gave a reason for each thing - nipple stim helps the uterus contract, sex and fluids help the cervix to relax and spicey foods have some sort of enzime in it - Well, I tried them all and it worked, the next night I was in labor. Good luck!

Sex and have your partner stimulate your nipples. They use nipple stimulation before pitocin at hospitals.

Pitocin! The artificial kind you can get from your IV or the kind you get from nipple stimulation. It works.

I agree with the sex, and walking. I would stay away from castrol oil and laxatives, they work because they stimulate the muscles in your colon which inturn stimulates the contractions in you uterus. However not only do you have a bowel movement, but the baby can have one as well and as we all know meconia is a very very bad sign. If the baby "breathes" in their first poo chances are they will have to have a lot of extra help and possibly a stay in the NICU.

SEX! But here's the kicker, you cant have sex just to have it....you need to have an "O". Worked for me, plus it's what the OB's recommend! Also, tweeking your nipples is known to help....Best of luck to you!

I started using Evening Prim Rose oil because i herd that it also prevents tearing and it softens everything up the day after i started using it i went into labour..and i was 10 days early with my first baby! she was 8lbs 5oz and no tearing!! so id say it works.

I would tell you sex and walking and lots of exercise but i don't think that works so if it makes you uncomfortable don't do it. once i got past my due date with my sone i was push mowing our lawn (which is a bigger lawn) and then i raked it. I walked 2 miles everyday and had sex as much as i could without getting to uncomfortable but... nothing helped. I still had to be enduced. so good luck to you and i hope all goes well.

I was over with my second child, but thought oh well it happens, but then when my 3rd went over too I had enough. I was 5 days over and went for a bike ride with my 4yr old son on the back to the park, turned a few heads on the way, but.... I went into labour that night, and had a beautiful daughter the next morning! Must be girls always late!!

I hope this reply finds you having a new baby! If the baby still has not come, check with other women in your family to see if they have had late babies. Both my Gramma and myself had only late babies and needed a little medical help. One of my kids was a full 3 weeks late, but she still came out safe and sound. She is currently studying to take the TExas bat exam. Good luck with your new baby.

4 things I found that works: 1. Jumping on a trapoline 2. yes Sex works 3. horseback riding, and 4. a large turkey dinner. these have worked for either myself or for friends of mine good luck!!!

I had a 10 month baby back in 1976. They said when the apple ripens, the apple will fall. The night before I had him we went to a wedding reception and did some waddle dancing. We went home and since I was in agony, my husband gave me a wonderful rub and we had relations also. THAT's what sparked labor. Try it honey

I'm with Debbi-Anne on this one. My daughter was 10 days overdue. The only thing that seemed to make her decide to come out was me and her daddy having sex. lol A little bit uncomfortable since I was sooo overdue, but I went into labor about 3-4 hours later!

I agree with Debbie-Anne Brenton... Lots of unprotected sex. The semen will help deteriorate the cervical cap which will eventually allow for your water to break. Do it before the baby comes because for the first 6 weeks after, you are the most fertile and chances of becoming pregnant again are very high.

You could also ask your doctor to induce you. There are diferent ways of going about it. The longer you wait after the due date, the placenta begins to break down, causing it to be harder to get nutrients to the baby...

Always remember your due date is at best an estimate so your little one will come when it's good and ready.
