Are you and your child(ren) on WIC (if you're in the states)? They help a lot!

Start with your local churches, soup kitchen or food bank.
Then, apply for assistance. If you're truly struggling financially, and can prove it, you should be accepted. You'll probably have to do some sort of "training" as part of the program, but maybe that's only in certain areas.
But, if you're in need of dinner tonight, look for things like Interfaith Good Samaritan centers, food banks etc.
Also, if you're a member of the LDS church, call your Bishop. (Not that you are, but if you have any friends who are, they can also get you help through their church.) In Wyoming, most Lutheran churches have food banks...
Um...I can't think of much else, but I wish you the best.

Food bank? A local church?
