I have a 16 month old little girl that i have been breastfeeding since birth, she goes to daycare from 9am-4pm and i nurse her as soon as we get home but last for 15 minuets, she wants to nurse mainly for comfort or a snack and when she is tired, she does not like reg. milk but eats solid food very well i dont not feel the need to wean her off but my family does. should i ignore the ignorant comments?

Absolutely ignore the ignorance. Your baby, your business. AAP recommends 12 months or beyond and WHO recommends 2 years or beyond. Key words being 'or beyond'. You are doing nothing wrong. You are caring for YOUR child the way she needs you to. ♥
