I have to sneak food from my kids!

This is going to sound whiny, so I apologize in advance.
I have two boys, a 2.5 year old & a 13 month old, and they are typical toddlers. Sometimes they eat their meals, sometimes they don't, but over all they eat well and well balanced. BUT, they always eat MY food. I made an English muffin & as I was buttering the 2nd half, I noticed that the older one had already made off with the 1st half. Even if I just make a cup of tea, they scream & holler to get some. Even if I am eating the same thing they are eating, they want mine.

I am 9 weeks pregnant with wicked morning sickness, so I have to eat lots of smaller snacks throughout the day. I've started hiding food in my car so I can get a bite to eat if I take the trash out or get the mail, but I feel so bad about doing that. And I can't bare to only eat when they nap.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has similar toddlers & food issues?

I agree with Sherri for the most part. I don't mind sharing the occasional bite, especially when it's a new food. But for the most part, if my kids want some of whatever I'm eating, I make them their own. Sometimes I'll give them the one that I'm eating and make myself another one, but I matter too and there's no reason that I should go hungry. I think it's something that you're just going to have to teach the kids that it's unacceptable to be stealing food from other people.
Good luck :)

YES! if my son is awake and sees I've got something he comes running saying "bite! bite!". When I was pregnant I had to eat small amounts through the day myself and I just learned to either make enough to share or to hide that I was eating by keeping it at the back of the counter and grabbing a bite as I walked by. If I really couldn't share (like I ate a lot of almonds and he was to little to eat them) I'd say no mommy can't share this is for baby and I'd pat my tummy. He also had a habit of reaching on to my plate and just taking food so I would take the food back and tell him "no, that's rude" and then when he'd ask I'd give him a bite. It's just how kids are they will start to learn manners as they get older.
