I just had a newborn baby and i wanted some advice if it would harm her if i took her outside for about thirty minutes or less. I have a two year old and she is not in daycare rightnow( because i am on maternity leave) and she really wants to go outside but im afraid to take my newborn out and my husband is at work all day. Can anyone give me some good advice?

I did indeed take her out and she was fine. The weather is fine in texas right now. Not to cold or hot and i just take her out in the mornings and the evenings when the sun isn't to high in the sky. Thank you ladies so much for the advice.

O my gosh yes it's ok to take your new baby out. not like in breezy chilly rainy weather though. I had my son out for a walk on his third day home. if its a little chilly, just deeds her appropriately and use a blanket in the stroller with her

Of course it is ok. Make sure baby is appropriately dressed for the weather and in a comfy stroller or capsule and take a throw sheet to drape over to protect from the sun. My little ones had to come outside from day one because I would not leave them unattended when I went out to feed my horses and they never got sunburn nor did they suffer from colds. Enjoy.

If it's a comfortable day, it's fine to take baby outdoors! Use the same precautions as you do for your 2 yo (sunscreen, or cover baby)

I always avoided wind, extreme heat or cold, or horrible weather (rain/snow) until they got older, but otherwise...enjoy the outdoors before winter (or full summer, depending on where you're at) hits!

Its a personal choice. Some people don't do this for religious and cultural reasons. I will tell you from a medical standpoint you should consider body temperature, seasonal allergy conditions, weather, and length of exposure. Good Luck!
