I'm having a girl!! How do you choose the right name for your baby, knowing that it will be her's for life...

I have a friend that waited until both her daughters were born before naming them. They wanted to see the personality and demeanor (as much as they could!) before choosing their names. Both kids took about 10 days to name. Also, we wanted names for our kids to represent our families names. For example, my mother's maiden name was Campbell and that's what we named our daughter. Not super weird but unique enough for a girl.

Yes just take your time with it,and just dont pick something to out of the world.because school kids can be very Judgemental. you will find the perfect one.

baby center (.com or .ca) has a great list of names. I had a few names picked that both my DH & I liked. Then when our daughters were born they seem to look more like 1 name or some how 1 just fit.
Pick the unique name u like & a name u like but not as unique for her middle name. That way if for some reason she doesn't like her name you don't have to have a name change. As well I wouldn't over worry about name calling almost every kid gets that at 1 time or another and it's how you raise your child to be happy and sucure with themselves that prevents the issues with name calling (for the most part). Example I had someone make up a stupid name for me and I have a common name, all she was doing was trying to make the cooler kids laugh to be apart of their group. She could have cared less what I thought of it (she made dumb names for everyone not part of that group).
However I would avoid names such as sweetie, pumpkin, apple etc.. which I have seen in name books.
Good Luck some how you'll just know which 1 is right for u & her

check out baby name book and search the internet for names. then make a list of all the names you like. as time goes on you may decide u no longer like some of the names on the list so them cross them out. also get you hubby to look at the list and the names that he doesnt like cross them off. that should help u narrow it down. good luck

lol, easier said than done. I want a unique name for her, yet if its too strange, kids might tease her when she gets older and may hate her own name. oiu, the beautiful names are all taken up. lol

How do you choose? Take your time doing so, and if she really hates it she can change it when she is older..lol
