Ok, my husband and I were intimate 2 weeks Nov. 25,27,28 and then I started my period on the 13th of Dec. It was moderately normal but a little longer than norm for me and a few days later too. I have two boys and have always been told I'm fertile. What I am wondering is; If you have sex that close to your period would your body have enough time to register the pregnancy that you would miss your period? I hope that makes sence. I'm guessing the answer is yes, but stranger things have happened. So if this has happened to you I'd like to know. I am not taking any test until my expected period in Jan is missed or not.

Conception has to do with ovulation, which occurs about 14 days BEFORE your period. If you had a normal period. you would not be pregnant. If you conceived over a month ago, you'd have a positive home test by now.
So to answer your question; yes, your body knows when you conceive and you will not get a period. Come women describe having cycles throughout pregnancy, but they're usually very light and very brief.
