with my youngest i was 4 cm dilated at 36 weeks and she was 8 day late and they induced me. so you may still have alittle more time

I was dilated to 4 cm at 39 wks and was having contractions all the time, and I ended up being induced at 40 wks and 6 days. lol. But you never know, you could be luckier than me!! Good Luck!

Let gravity help you out. I took lots of walks which helped. In one week I managed to dilate 2 cm. I know in my area once you get to 4 cm the doctor admits you into the hospital and if you're not contracting he gives you pitocin to speed the process along.

Hey, I'm pregnant with my third, but I was dialated 5cm at the end of 35wks with my daughter (2nd child) . The docs wanted to just give me some medicine to stop/slow labor and send me home, but I said nope! lol I told them that my daughter was coming now, and i'm not going home unless I have a baby with me. (Gotta love army hospitals!)

If you are already starting to dialate, then the baby IS coming... Might not be as fast as you would like, but they are making their little way down. Labor is/can be a long drawn out BORING process at some points, but the end will be worth it. :) Just try and stick it out as long as you can at home because the hospitals aren't as glamorous sometimes as we'd like them to be. You're own home will be much more comfortable than the hospital... lol But, on the same note, dont wait too long! You know you're body best, you'll know when the contractions hit. Good luck and congratulations!

I was 3-4 cm dilated for a long time. Watch for leaking amniotic fluid vs. leaking urine. Leaking amniotic fluid leaves you more susceptible to infection... I was dilated and leaking for two weeks, induced, and had to have a c-section 52 hours later. I hope you have better luck than I did... Go 4 wheeling ;)

Don't feel bad. I started dilating at 35 weeks and there is really nothing you can do except maybe walk a lot. Even though I started dilating early, Mercedes still did not get here until my due date. I had to be induced into labor since I had already went into premature labor at 35 weeks. So just be patient and trust me, your little one will get here soon.

Yeah, since everyone is so different it could be any time. At 39 weeks I was 1 cm dilated and she came 2 days after her due date. My 39 week appointment was only 3 days before her due date so I had my daughter less than a week later.

Go for a walk do stretches and maby go four by fouring lol also masage your ankle it induces laber. Good luck your almost there also if u have a pump for breast feeding use it that also helps sex too. Dont use castrol oil its bad though rasberry stemed tea is also supposed to help but i dont think it douse. And u could stay at three for awhile but injoy ur last bit of peace u wont get any for a long time. Have fun

haha im sorry to hear that... yea i got pretty anxious when i was 38 weeks as well.... the only thing is is that i stated dilating at 6 months....i was stuck on 2 cm till the day then induced me..... they told me my cervix wasnt dilating properly so they had to induce... it wasnt to bad tho... i kno its a really weird ? but is ur cervix dilating fully or is just part of it dilated??

Everybody's bodies are different. Your doctor would be the best one for that kind of information. They won't let you go to long...
