So I am a teen mother and the money part is already going to be a lot. and Im not saying this in a bitchy way but financially i could not support a baby with special needs. I love my child already but i am scared to death he is not going to be born unhealthy or that he will have some form of disability. DO any of you worry about this and if so how do you deal with it?

I live in the UK. Parents of disabled children get generous benefits from the Government.

Having said that, the vast majority of babies are born healthy and continue to thrive.

And the younger you are, the better your chances of having a healthy child.

You are in a stage right now that is normal.. yes, sometimes you wonder.. is my child going to come out with a problem .. but when they do .. you see there is nothing wrong, except that you have a beautiful healthy baby. As long as you are doing your part to keep your baby healthy.. you will be okay.. eating fruits, veg.. making sure you have iron from your foods and all. you;ll be fine.. I wouldn't take all those shots that alot of these doctors rogam and all.. rogam can cause a miscarrage later on if you get pregnant again and the docs. dont tell you everything about it.. I didn;t take the stuff the doctors told me that i should and all of my children came out fine.. I did take the rogam the first time and I had 2 miscarriages afterward.

I believe you will be fine.. so, dont stress yourself.. Being pregnant and stressing isn't a good combination.. Be happy and start getting things ready for your little one and pick a name and be happy because you are blessed and there are women out there that wishes to have a child and cannot.. So, don;t worry.. you will be fine and your baby will be fine.. Congradulations and God bless.

if you have not had anything brought up by your doctor I would not worry so much about it :)

Yes, I worried about the possibility. I was conscious of what I put into my body, not taking medications without checking with my doctor etc. Unfortunately there is not a great deal more that you can do. Stress however is not good for you, you have to try and relax. As a teenage mother you have age on your side, the likely hood of genetic disabilities such as down syndrome increase with age. If your doctor is not concerned then you shouldn't be, just look after yourself, eat healthy and attend all your maternal appointments and scans. Good luck.

Depending on how pregnant you are they do testing for disibilitys. im not sure if you have a reason to be worried but your doctor would be the best person to ease your worries. New moms worrie about everything its normal you just have do the best you can do.
