Inducing a miscarriage at home and getting pregnant again

I am 38 years old w/ my first pregnancy and went for my 8 week u/s yesterday. No heartbeat was found and I was prescribed misoprostol. Has anyone used this medication and if so what was your experience? Would you have preferred to allow nature to take it's course? I am planning to take the medication Saturday morning but I'm really sad and confused.

Should I try to conceive again? I'm worried I'm playing Russian roulette due to my advanced maternal age but I want a baby so bad!

First off I am SO sorry for your loss. What a hard thing to be going through. I can't answer your first question. But as for your second about trying again......don't let age stop you from trying. This happens to many people no matter the age. I have several friends and family members that have had to deal with miscarriages and most of them have been in their mid 20's when that happened. Over the years I have come to learn that there are many people that have had to deal with a miscarriage.....more then I would have realized. Most of my friends and family members that did have a miscarriage have all gone on to have children after the miscarriage. I also know many people who are in their upper 30's and 40's that conceive and perfectly healthy children. My last child I was 36 yrs old and we plan to have at least one more in a couple years....I will be 38 yrs old at that time.

A friend of the family is currently 11weeks pregnant with her 3rd child and still hasn't heard her baby heart beat but he looks good on the ultrasound. I would wait. Dr's are wrong as much as they are right. Do your homework and go with your instinct on this one.
