No, it isn't. It's considered major abdominal surgery, with all that entails for recovery time and limited activities for the recovery period, e.g. lifting, but it is nowhere near a 'hip to hip' incision.
These days the exterior incision is usually stapled, not covered in a dressing other than loose gauze for the first 24 hours (better results for avoiding infection) and the staples are removed, on average, after 4 days. Mine took 7 days because I healed slowly and was obese at the time, which put more pressure on the incision. 4 days is more usual.

Mine wasn't from one hip to the other. I don't have a clue what it's 'considered' though.

no, I had a c-section and the cut is very small. it is also very low towards the pubic line and almost impossible to see.
