Is anyone familiar with mosaic down syndrome

My granddaughter was tested but they only tested a few cells aND it was negative. Ever since she was born and she is 8 now, people have asked if she has down syndrome because of her facial features. How important is it to pursue a diagnosis? She does well in school but does have several physical issues
