Baby has been spitting up so much and so fussy with Enfamil Newborn so I switched her to Enfamil A.R. and got some rice cereal also switched from bottled & sink water to the Nursery water last night. Is this going to affect my baby pooping? So far she's been sleeping more at night and not fussy during the day anymore. Just need to make sure she's gonna be OK pooping.

Every time I put my daughter on a different formula (which we switched a lot to try to find one to help her reflux) she got severely constipated for several days... In that case I would not have been able to do two different ones in the same day, I have also heard it said that it takes 2 full weeks for a babys body to get used to a new formula, I wouldn't recommend trying to use 2 at the same time

How old is your baby? If you're just switching to a formula with added rice for ONLY night feeds in the hopes of longer sleeping, nothing more, at less than 4 months old, it's not recommended. The statement of rice before bed to make them sleep longer first off is untrue - it's a myth. Second, if your baby is less than 4 months old they can't digest it. Third, if it's recommended by your child's doctor to use the rice weighted formula for a reflux problem, you would need to use it with every feeding or it won't help appropriately.

Definitely ask your pediatrician first but as long as your child doesn't start getting fussy more often or have drastic changes in bowel movements, you should be fine.

My ped said its fine, I switched my DD from Similac to Heinz with no problem, he did say to go from milk based to milk based though not from milk based to soy :)
good luck

We switched our sons because he wouldn't feed on the first formula. I chose that formula because his sister had it and she had no problems. I would gradually change as some babies don't like changing completely x

we switched our girls between similac and enfamil...they didn't have a problem with it and the pediatrician didn't either...what ever works for your baby.
