she was in intensive care for 5 days because when she was born the cord was wrapped around her neck twice so they wanted to monitor her, and she was 2 days late but my mum thinks she was later than that because they only guessed her gestational age when i found out and my mum said her skin was alot like mine when i was born and i was 2 weeks late

Do you mind if I ask why she was in intensive care? If she was full term and there were concerns, you might want to mention it to the doctor and have her muscle tone checked. This is not a big deal though, so don't stress! Some kids have low muscle tone, most have typical muscle tone, and some have high muscle tone. One of my sons has high and two have low tone. If hers is high, it's something you'll just want to note until she's older if it causes difficulty finding reflexes and such because it's a cause in itself, not something to be scared of, and many doctors do get scared when they can't find them. I hope that makes sense.

yea i had a feeling she would be doing all sorts of things early, when she was just 2 days old and in intensive care she was lifting her head up and looking around at everything, thanks for all the responses

Anything can happen! My son was 12 days old when we found him with face mashed against the side of his crib and his arm hanging out from between the slats. Somehow he maneuvered beyond the rolls we had placed at his sides! Be prepared for anything at any time. You just never know with these guys!

yep my son was the same. But then he didn't reach any major milestones particularly early either. Enjoy this first year without trying to analyse it's first first year is full of wonderful achievements regardless of how old baby is when they happen.

It's not "normal" according to the books...but my second born did this too (she's now 4). I was shocked. Just enjoy!

thats awesome congrats on both the nb and her being so smart and strong anything can happen at any time with babys they all learn at different paces they just really have a guide to kinda help moms "not freak out" so much doesnt work all the time cuz some kids are early like yours and others are a little bit late it doesnt mean they are super genious' or really dumb either way it just means that thing they excelled in better than others like my son deff was the bottle and drinking and everything else my mil thought my son was late on walking and talking but he isnt he was saying mama and dada before he was 1 and started walking at 13 months girls learn faster than boys in talking and potty training most of the time but not all the time and its not that big a deal but if you do have concerns nothing is wrong with asking any of us moms or even better (sometimes) the dr but that is great she is doing that my daughter was always up and adim looking around and all that when she was awake and from the min she was born she was holding up her head but my son eh he couldnt holdup his head for a little while after all of them are different

all babies are different, my youngest started doing things like that really early too. the day we brought him home from the hospital(5 hours after he was born) he was already holding his head up and lifting himself up on his arms...just sit back and be amazed at what your little one can and is doing! :)
