Not all babies poop every day, breastfed or not. Is she having 6-10 wet fiapers in a24 hour period? A wet diaper does not mean it is soaked, it means a urine output of about the size of a half dollar. If you are using disposable diapers, you may not even see or feel that mush wetness in her diaper. Try putting toilet tissue in her diaper to see of she is wetting enough. If she is wetting, is not fussy and is not lethargic, I wouldn't be worried.

Do you have a lactation consultant you could call? Or the pediatrician? They could talk you through it/ask specific questions that we might not think of to make sure the baby isn't dehydrated (as someone mentioned below) and is actually getting enough milk when feeding. I think it would be good to consult a professional to put your mind at ease. That's what they are there for :).

It really CAN be normal for a bf baby to poop only every few days (mine did) and as long as the poop is still mushy when it does show up, you know they aren't constipated. But just to make sure, call the doc or lc. You want to rule everything out and be sure your baby is taking enough in, too! Every situation is different. Good luck!

It's actually normal for breastfed babies to space out their bowel movements in time. This can start as early as 4-6 weeks. My son would poop every 9, yes, 9 days! It was shocking to me at first, but was assured by my doctor this was totally normal. My daughter would go 3-4 times a day. Also normal. Breastmilk doesn't have fillers in it so the body is able to almost totally digest it without much waste.
