Jealous of the Nanny

I work from home and we have a part time nanny to take care of our nine month old. I'm finding myself getting jealous when she's around. She gets to take him to the park, play dates with HER friends kids, and they just get to have fun all the time. I'm getting jealous and almost mad at the times they spend together- especially when she hangs out with her friends with my son. I love my job but I love my son more so its super hard to watch someone else taking care of him. Am I being ridiculous and unreasonable? I don't think I can financially quit my job but I also feel that I'm not being the mom I can/should be.

You need to take a step back and look at it from outside the box. You said you have to work and the means sometimes having someone else take care of the child/children. I do not understand the jealousy. It would be no different than if you have someone in a center caring for your kids or in a home based center. You just are not there to see it. As a mom, I have been both working and stay at home. You just need to carve out time during the day when you are not working to spend with your child. You can still take your kid to the park, plan play dates with your friends who have kids, and have fun with your child too. You just have to learn to prioritize things.
