I received a jolly jumper, but as far as I've been able to read on internet, it not detrimental on development of baby. Am I missing something? Any advice or opinions on this?

they have been used for 35 years in my family! all of us five are fine. my daughter loves it. if they can hold their head up then go for it. it gives me time to get a few things done when she is in it. i have one that can go in the doorway or hook onto a hook. i find either great.

I don't know if it is detrimental but how can it not help. When they are big enough to use one they tend to have fun in them that has to be a good thing right. They learn how to stand in it, they learn how to jump, they creat leg muscles that strengethen them especially to learn use when learning how to crawl and walk. I'd say it's a good thing! But no you don't NEED to.

From everything I've read, as long as they're not in there for excessive periods of time, and they have good neck strength, it's fine. You just don't want them in there for much longer than 15-20 minutes a day.

my daughter had her first jolly jumper at 4 months despite the doctor saying she was too young we knew she was ready she is 9 months now and took her first step last week. i think it helped her with strength

i am one of four kids and we were all put in a jolly jumper, our parents put a heavy duty hook in the centre of our lounge to hang it for extra safety, three of us LOVED it my sister would not tolerate it though and i defintely plan to get one for my bub theyre a great way to amused and strengthen bub

From the information I found when we got ours, they are fine as long as your child is not in there for long periods of time. We used to let Nick have 15 minute sessions in it and he just LOVED it! He has always been a very active, energetic baby, and used to get frustrated when he couldn't move around as much as we wanted to (before he could crawl). The JJ let him have so much fun, and I believe it made his legs stronger too :-)

Ive been told that they shouldnt be in them till there backs are strong enough if at all as they cause the spine to compact when the bones are still soft. x

I loved the Fisher Price Rainforest jumper and so did my daughter. I believe it made her legs stronger. I like the ones that stand rather than in ones that hang in the door.
