Just found out I was pregnant yesterday, and I'm scared out of my mind

I have been on methadone for a little over a year. I had pancreatitus a few years back, and unfortunately, got hooked on all the pain meds they had me on. I was detoxing, coming down 1 mg a week, which is what was recommended by the doctor as the safest and healthiest way to get off the methadone. I was at 70, and had come down to 50. The doctor had me stop my detox and now I'm stuck on methadone while I'm pregnant. My boyfriend(non-addict), who has been nothing but supportive, is concerned about me being on the methadone and thinks I can stop it now since I'm newly pregnant. I know I can not stop the methadone, bc it is extremely bad for the baby. Can anyone just help me? I don't know how to explain it to him that it can cause miscarriage, but I'm also worried that my baby will be born addicted.

The only thing we are qualified to tell you, is to speak to your doctor about your concerns. They need to monitor you and the baby for safe levels, weening down etc. NO ONE on here (even a doctor online) can tell you because they don't know you, your medical history, and are not monitoring you OR your baby. PLEASE don't take this kind of serious medical advice from the internet full of unqualified people. It could end up harming you or your baby.

Good luck love.
