Just got diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and I had been following a low to moderate carb diet that cuts out grains, dairy, and sugar. My dietician thinks I should increase my carbs to 175g because my baby needs it for brain development and if I do that I think it will lead to other health problems like preclampsia and having to go on insulin or diabetic meds. Also I thought increasing my carb load would be unhealthy for my pregnancy. Any advice?

Well, I'd say that if your PCP and your OB are in agreement, they're the medical experts, not the dietician.
Follow the advice of your medical professionals

My PCP thinks my current diet is great. My OB said he is not concerned because the fetus has been developing normal, and he has actually had women on Paleo diets and their babies turned out perfectly healthy.

What did your doctor say? I see a lot of what the dietician 'thinks', and what you 'think', but what is the medical advice?
