Some people do get their periods while breasfeeding. For instance I am exclusively breastfeeding my daughter who is only 2 months old and I've already got my period. Some people are just more fertile than others. But, that said, the way you are bleeding is not right. You do need to get it checked out. Unless your periods were like this before you got pregnant, which I'm assuming they weren't or else you would not be so worried. It is most likely the Mirena that you are on. Are you in any serious pain? If you are than it has probably implanted into the walls of your uterus which can be a huge problem. If there is no pain, I'm going to guess that the hormone levels of it just aren't right for you, I know I had that problem with some of the b/c pills that they had me on when I first started them. You could probably look into the copper iud, does not release any hormones but works all the same.

I think you need to go back to the doctors you can not carry on like this. I don't think your body likes it and you may have to have it removed. You may be asked to have a scan to see if there is a polyp in the womb that is causing this. Go and get checked for your own peace of mind.

i would see ur doctor. ive never had the mirena, but i knew friends that have and none of them bled like that. there is a small chance with those of it going through the wall of ur uterus. all ur doctor has to do is a small pevlic exam to make sure it hasnt moved. there is no harm in calling and seeing what they say
