Latch problems with 2 month old

My baby is two months old and still having latch problems. She isn't gaining weight fast and I have nipple and breast pain. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've read a lot about how to achieve a proper latch but we still have trouble. She either gets mad when I try to position her correctly or starts with a good latch but ends the feeding "perched" on my nipple. It is very important to me that I continue breast feeding but I am getting very frustrated. Thanks for any help!

If you are in the states, call La Leche League. There will probably be a chapter in your area. They can send a lactation consultant to your home to help you with BFing. Or you can call your hospital and find out who they recommend.....they may even have someone at the hospital you delivered in that can assist you with bfing. Your baby may just have a difficult time latching, and need to be trained how. Best of luck to you!
