Hi I'm Fay, Anthony is my Nephew he has been with my Husband and I 6.5 years. He has a Medicare card, he won't swallow capsules and he can't stand the seeds in his mouth. He throws it up. We have tried the Daytrana patch, he's allergic to it. His Dr says that we should just spank him and make him take it. Walk a day in my shoes she will see. I am not abusing him. He can chew and he will take liquid if he has too but he will not swallow. I have mixed that capsule with everything I can think of he won't take it. Can any one out there help me please!

I don't know where you are, but see if you can find a pharmacy that will mix a liquid solution of what he needs (and flavor it to help it go down easier?). Not every pharmacy does this, but they are out there. Its called a "compounding pharmacy." They customize medications to fit specific needs. I wonder if its possible to essentially mail-order it, if there isn't one close to you?
Spanking seems like an extreme and negative way to enforce his cooperation... it would cast a really negative association to something that is supposed to help him. Some people have a sensitive gag reflex. Spanking doesn't change that.
As an adult, I still take pills/capsules in an odd way because the standard way tickles too much. I put a mouthful of water in my mouth first, then before swallowing it, I throw the pill in there and gulp it all at once. Not graceful by any means, but I can get large vitamins down that way that otherwise would get stuck. Good luck!
