YES NO PERIOD!!!! I love the Mirena!!! I have had mines for a yr now and i have had light to nothing spotting. At first I was breastfeeding but stopped when my son was almost 1 so i ddint have a period. After I stopped I thought I would have one but when I wasnt i spoke to my lovely gyno and he told me that someone women have no periods and some women have light or medium periods. It just depends on your body!

I had mine 2 years ago, 3 months of irregular period after iud insertion then it stopped. It's very convenient as I used to have heavy period after my childbirth. Very good contraceptive. Anyone have any idea of non existence of period will do harm to our body? As period should be a normal cycle for all women?

Recently, I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure, not sure if the non existence of period has any effect on this as our body organs is connected.

Both myself and my sister have mirena. The difference between a mirena and a standard coil is that it releases hormones into your system meaning that your periods are light or even non- existent. My sister hasn't had a period since hers was put in 2 years ago, I've had one period in the 8 months since mine was put in. It doesn't sound like you need to be worried.

It was nearly a year after the birth or my little guy before I had my period at all. Is it possible that your uterus was doing something else besides a normal cycle?

I have the Mirena and my period is super light and sometimes non-existent. I can easily see how one could just stop having them.

It wouldn't hurt to put a call in to your gyn's office just to get the "official" word, though.
