Implanon is terrible IMO it made me moody and bloated and I put up with it for a year before going to the doctor and saying "GET IT OUT NOW!!!!"

I would do some serious research on the Mirena as it has some really terrible side affects, Google it and inform yourself completely before having that put into your body.

I had the mirena and loved it, you can start trying as soon as you have it removed! I was pregnant within two months of trying and I now have it again!

I am on mirena as well ( Darylann I wasn't aware of the 80% chance of getting pregnant in the first year after so thanks for filling me in) I am really happy with it. It's extremely effective (was told even more than having a vasectomy) I rarely get my period which is a great bonus and fairly normal on mirena. Other than that I have no side effects and don't even notice it's there. If you don't have a drug plan it is quite expensive but if you keep it in for the full 5 years (maximum length) then it's about equal to other birth control options.

I had Mirena. It was nice to not have to worry about getting pregnant after having our daughter. She will be 2 in July and now we want another one. If I could go back....we never would have gotten it! Only an 80% chance of getting pregnant within the first TWELVE months after removal! I am seriously disappointed!!! They did not tell us that when it was put in! I had mine removed in the beginning of April and no period or positive pregnancy yet. If you seriously do not want any more children anytime soon go for Mirena. If you know you'll want one in a year or two go for a different form of BC.
